The dogs of winter

We woke up this morning to four inches and counting of snow. They’ve been predicting it for a while, and apparently the snow extends to most of the East Coast.

Jess got me up at 5 because she thought it might be time (as in “It’s Time!”), so we decided to take the dogs for a walk and see what happened. Turned out to be a false alarm, but Morgantown + Dogs + Snow = some pretty good pictures.

Here’s some views from our living room …

… and dining room.

Penny saw snow a few weeks ago, but this was her first walk with it actually in progress.

We kept her on the leash because she sometimes heads off in hot pursuit (once after a herd of deer, if you can believe that), but seeing as we didn’t expect any cars to be out in our neighborhood, we let Bear roam.

Bear’s seen snow plenty of times, but he never misses an opportunity to lose his mind.

Once we got back to the yard, I had the brilliant idea to try to get a shot of the dogs in front of our lit-up shrubbery. This worked about as well as could be expected.

Some days you’ve just got to post pictures of dogs in snow. I think Benjamin Franklin said that.
